So we have made it to the end of season 4 of Bigg Boss Telugu. This season was special because it happened during an unprecedented time in human history. The COVID-19 outbreak affected all aspects of our lives, including home entertainment. And Bigg Boss Telugu came as a blessing to remove the dullness of lockdown. The showrunners deserve an extra round of applause for bringing us this show amid a pandemic. Today, we will know who takes home the winner’s trophy and prize money of Rs 50 lakh.

Telugu star Nagarjuna Akkineni returned to host the fourth season, which was launched with 16 contestants on September 6. Given that this season began under the shadow of COVID-19, the showrunners put in place a slew of safety measures to ensure a safe working environment. As part of the safety protocol, all contestants were placed under mandatory quarantine for two weeks and were subjected to thorough COVID-19 tests before letting them in on the show. So effectively, the contestants in the final round remained cut off for about 120 days.
The fourth season premiered with Surya Kiran, Monal Gajjar, Abijeet Duddala, Lasya Manjunath, Sujatha, Ariyana Glory, Syed Sohel Ryan, Alekhya Harika, Devi Nagavalli, Mehaboob Shaikh, Amma Rajasekhar, Karate Kalyani, Noel Sean, Divi Vadthya, Akhil Sarthak and Gangavva as contestants.
And finally, more than 100 days and many evictions later, we have five hopefuls vying for the top prize. Akhil Sarthak, Dethadi Harika, Abijeet Duddala, Ariyana Glory and Syed Sohel Ryan are among the finalists.

From its launch amidst pandemic to the lineup of contestants, Bigg Boss Telugu season 4 will remain special in the history of the reality TV series in Telugu for various reason.

Data from the NATIONAL FAMILY HEALTH SURVEY reveals the extent of the digital divide in India .
For the first time ever, a government survey in India asked its people if they have ever used the internet. The question was part of the fifth National Family Health Survey, the data for which were recently released. The survey was conducted last year.
Bihar reported the lowest percentage of women who said they had (20.6%), Sikkim the highest (76.7%). Among men, Meghalaya had the lowest (42.1%) and Goa (82.9%) had the highest.
The new National Family Health Survey data are partial – they contain results from 22 states only, with big states such as Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan missing. Thus it is not possible to fully decode the survey data just yet. The results discussed in this story are from this first phase alone, and show wide variations in internet access among men and women, between states, and in urban and rural areas.
However, since the Covid-19 pandemic steamrolled through the world, large chunks of work, education and medical consultation have all moved online for millions and this trend might continue. The Indian government, for its part, has its own digital ambition to get more Indians online.
In this light, the data for this particular survey question are important. Access to the internet is also important for the government’s own schemes and public delivery of services such as the government’s app for farmers to hire tractors and get information on the weather.
As of 2019, there were 718.75 million internet or broadband users in India, up 19% from 2018, according to data from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India.

People's messiah Sonu Sood recalled how during a shoot superstar Chiranjeevi hesitated to hit him because of his post-lockdown image. He said that during the shooting of his upcoming Telugu movie Acharya, South superstar Chiranjeevi expressed reservations about hitting him for a scene, given his newfound image of a hero.
"We were doing an action sequence and Chiranjeevi sir said, 'You being in the film is a big problem for us because I can't hit you in the action scene'. He said if he does that people will curse him. There was another sequence where he was placing his feet on me but that too was reshot," Sood said.
The 47-year-old actor also revealed that the makers of another Telugu film have changed the script according to his new image, meaning that he will have to shoot his portions again.
Bollywood actor Sonu Sood said filmmakers have started to approach him with lead roles in their films due to his philanthropic work for migrant workers during the coronavirus-induced lockdown.
